Regal London’s award-winning development in St John’s Wood, The Compton, has been honoured with two further awards; ‘Architecture Multiple Residence London’ at the UK Property Awards in October, and ‘Best Exterior Design’ at The WhatHouse? Awards in November.
Showcasing the very best of the UK’s developers, interior designers and architects, both the UK Property Awards and The WhatHouse? Awards are judged by leaders in the industry on a national level. These wins are a significant achievement for The Compton and Regal London as a whole.
The Compton has been designed as an architectural pioneer for London’s residential landscape. Designed by Simon Bowden Architecture, this striking apartment building embodies both innovation and elegance, pushing the boundaries of residential new build, not just in St John’s Wood, but London as a whole – something that has been commended in both awards judges’ reports, with the WhatHouse? Awards judges referring to its exterior design as “extraordinary”.
The judges added: “The organisation of the aluminium panels into ‘balustrade height’ bands across the facade is a really clever solution that also allows for a variety of apartment configurations to be accommodated within a cohesive and coherent overall design. It’s also worth noting the quality of the ground floor brick pediment – an exercise is beautiful detailing on its own… this is a tour de force of exterior design.”
Simon De Friend and Paul Eden, joint CEOs of Regal London, commented: “We are delighted that the innovation and exceptional design of The Compton have been recognised by these prestigious awards. We are proud of the design legacy we are creating with each of the Regal London developments.”
The Compton, one of Europe’s first cast aluminium clad-buildings, was completed in Spring 2019. The ten-storey residential building of 49 beautifully designed homes is now fully sold out and occupied.
